Service Item Commission Types

How can I commission my services? What is the commission for my services?

Every service item in TeamBuyIn is assigned a payout type that determines how a technician's commission is calculated. Commissions are able to be customized as needed. There are three payout types.

Fixed Rate

A flat dollar amount per service item sold. If a technician sells a capacitor and the fixed rate commission they get is $30, they earn $30 regardless of the price of the item or how many units are on the job.

Top Line

A percentage of revenue. If a technician sells a service item for $300 and their top line rate is 10%, they earn $30. The calculation is always based on the revenue that specific service item brought in.

Bottom Line

A percentage of profit. How profit is calculated depends on which FSM you use.

In Housecall Pro, profit is the revenue from the price book item minus the costs associated with that item on the job.

Housecall Pro Note: Labor rates and job inputs are not included in the calculation.

In Jobber, profit is the price minus costs, labor, and any expenses associated with the job. Everything entered into Jobber for that job is factored into the bottom line calculation.
