How to set commission rates on service items
More > Services
Your service list is where you set the default commission for every line item in your pricebook. Go to "More" in the toolbar and tap "Services." Your pricebook will be organized into categories, with each category containing the individual service items synced from your FSM. Tap any service item to set its commission amount and commission type.
More > Services > Service Item > Payout Type
Each line item has a Payout Type dropdown. There are three options. Fixed Rate pays out a specific dollar amount every time that line item appears on a job. Top Line pays out a percentage of the revenue for that line item. Bottom Line pays out a percentage of the profit for that line item.
Once you've selected a payout type, tap the Amount field and enter the number you want to apply.
How to automate commissions
More > Services > Service Item > Commissionable by default
Each service item has a Commissionable by default toggle. When it's on, that service item will be included in commission calculations automatically every time it appears on a job. When it's off, the line item comes in as non-commissionable by default and won't generate a payout unless you manually add it during job review.
This is useful for service items that should never or rarely generate a commission, like diagnostic fees or administrative charges.
How to track upsells
More > Services > Service Item > Upsell by Default
Each service item can be marked as an upsell by default. When the Upsell by Default toggle is on, any job that includes that service item will automatically count it as an upsell on that job ticket.
This increases the technician's overall upsell percentage, which is calculated on a job by job basis. Tracking upsells this way lets you see how often technicians are selling beyond the original scope of a job.
You can also mark individual line items as upsells manually during the job review flow.
Note: Bottom Line commissions are calculated using the cost data available in TeamBuyIn. If your cost data is incomplete -- for example, if labor costs aren't accounted for -- the profit figure used in the calculation will reflect that. Make sure your service costs are accurate before relying on Bottom Line commissions.
How to bulk edit services and commissions
More > Services > Bulk Edit
Bulk Edit lets you update commission settings across multiple service items at once instead of editing them one by one. Tap "Bulk Edit" from your service list to get started.
Once you've selected the services you want to edit:
More > Services > Bulk Edit > Financials
The Financials section lets you update payout type and commission amount across all selected service items. Use this when you need to change how a group of services are commissioned -- for example, switching a set of items from Fixed Rate to Top Line, or updating the commission amount across a category.
More > Services > Bulk Edit > Settings
The Settings section lets you update commissionable by default and upsell by default across all selected service items. Use this to turn commission eligibility or upsell tracking on or off for multiple items at once.
You can update Financials, Settings, or both in a single bulk edit. Once you've made your selections, tap "Save Changes" to apply them to every service item you selected.
Note: Bulk Edit only applies to the service items you select before saving. Items you leave unselected won't be changed.
