Generate Reports

How do I export a commission report? What is a Performance Pay report? What is an Accounting report? How do I track technician tips? How do I export TeamBuyIn data for payroll?

Web: Work > Reports

  1. Under ‘Report type’, choose ‘Accounting’ or ‘Performance Pay’.

  2. Under ‘Period’, choose the pay period you want to report on.

  3. Under ‘Team’, choose who to include. It starts on ‘All active users’, and you can narrow it to specific people.

  4. Under ‘Columns’, choose what the report shows. It starts on ‘Default columns’.

  5. Click ‘Generate report’.

The report appears on screen before you download it. At the top, you’ll see totals for the period, including revenue, tax, discounts, payout, commission, tips, cost, profit, and margin.

For example, $1,400.00 in full job revenue minus $572.50 in payout and $0.00 in cost leaves $827.50 in profit. That’s a 59.1% margin ($827.50 / $1,400.00 = 0.591).

Totals cover every line item on the jobs shown. Selected people figures cover only the people you included under ‘Team’.

Below the totals is a table grouped by job, line item, and person. Use ‘Expand all’ or ‘Collapse all’ to open or close the groups, and use the search bar to find a job or customer. Collapsed groups are still included in the report.

When the report looks right, click ‘Download CSV’ and use the file to run payroll.

Mobile: Dashboard > Export

Select a date range, choose ‘Performance Pay’ or ‘Accounting’, then tap ‘Export’.

Choosing a report type

  • Performance Pay -- totals by technician. Use this if you only need each person’s totals for payroll.

  • Accounting -- a job by job, line by line breakdown. Use this if you need detail for bookkeeping or to check individual payouts.

Choosing columns

Web: Work > Reports > Columns

Columns are grouped into sections such as Identity, Money, and Calculation. Check or uncheck any column to add or remove it. A few columns are always included and can’t be turned off, such as ‘Job’, ‘Line item’, ‘Person’, ‘Job revenue (net)’, and ‘Payout’.

Some columns are useful for payroll checks but are off by default. These include ‘Tips’, ‘Discounts’, ‘Override status’, ‘Calculated payout’, and ‘Difference from calculation’.

Mobile: Columns can’t be changed on mobile.

Note: Job rows and line item rows each carry their own amounts. Don’t add them together, or you’ll double count.

How tips appear in reports

Tips show as their own amount, so you can reconcile them separately from commission. On web, turn on the ‘Tips’ column under ‘Columns’. Tips are commissionable by default and split equally among the technicians on the job. You can adjust the split on any job. See Tip management.

Note: The Accounting report includes service items with zero revenue, such as free assessments, complimentary inspections, or items where cost is higher than revenue. Discounts and taxes appear as their own rows and always show zero payout.
