Hourly Rates and Labor Cost

How do I set an hourly rate? What is labor cost percentage? Why does labor cost say it is unavailable?

Setting hourly rates

Web: Setup > Settings > Team

Each team member has an hourly rate control on their card. To set many rates at once, use the bulk rate entry toolbar. A line under the rate says where it came from, such as 'Updated (date)', 'From a Jobber timesheet, (date).' or 'From a Housecall Pro import, (date).'

What labor cost shows

Labor cost appears on scorecards, the leaderboard detail panel and the Team page. It is built from hours, hourly rate, overtime and commission. Labor cost % is total labor divided by net revenue.

Example: $2,000 in total labor on $10,000 of net revenue is $2,000 / $10,000 = 20%.

Only reviewed jobs count toward revenue. Overtime is hours over 40 in a week by default. With a Housecall Pro import, TeamBuyIn uses the overtime labels in your timesheet import when a whole week has them.

When labor cost is unavailable

  • 'No hourly rate.' -- set an hourly rate for the person.

  • 'No timesheets cover (month).' -- import timesheets, or for Jobber, track time on the person's visits in Jobber. See Import Timesheets from Housecall Pro.

  • 'No net revenue in (month).' -- there are no reviewed jobs in that month.

  • 'No pay period.' -- set a pay period. See Setting your pay period.
